Andrew J. Barovick represents clients in the defense of lawsuits involving premises liability, products liability, construction-site accidents and other general negligence matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Barovick represented both plaintiffs and defendants in these areas, as well as in medical malpractice litigation. He has tried cases regularly throughout his career, beginning with criminal prosecutions at the Queens District Attorney's office, and continuing through his work in private practice trying negligence and medical malpractice cases. Mr. Barovick is also a skilled appellate attorney, and has argued before the New York Court of Appeals, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Appellate Division, First and Second Departments.
Activities & Accomplishments
Mr. Barovick has served as the head of the New York City Bar Association's Medical Malpractice Committee, a bipartisan group of attorneys, judges and professional liability professionals, where he organized and helped create CLE programs presented at the New York City Bar Association. He has also taught trial advocacy to law students, and served as a judge at numerous law school mock trial competitions.
Mr. Barovick serves on the Board of Directors of Family Ties, a not-for-profit social services organization based in Westchester County that helps families impacted by behavioral health challenges.
