Kristen Gaffey represents clients in the defense of litigation matters involving complex tort and general casualty matters, including transportation, premises liability, construction accidents, product liability, property damage, and general negligence matters.
Prior to joining Haworth Barber & Gerstman, LLC, Ms. Gaffey worked for a large, national defense firm and represented a multi-national e-commerce company as well as global and national retailers, manufacturers, entertainment companies, and commercial property owners.
Ms. Gaffey was also a faculty member at the Charlotte School of Law, where she taught Bar Exam Studies, Professional Responsibility, Negotiable Instruments, and other subjects. She also served as an academic advisor and moot court coach >
Affiliations, Activities & Accomplishments
Ms. Gaffey graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and History. While attending Syracuse University, Ms. Gaffey served as a production intern at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece for NBC Sports and worked for WAER (NPR Affiliate) as a sports reporter and statistician.
Ms. Gaffey subsequently received her M.A. in History from St. John's University while working for the Athletic Department in Athletic Communications and Compliance.
During law school, Ms. Gaffey was a member of the nationally ranked Moot Court Honor Board and competed nationwide. She also served as an intern for the United States Attorney's Office and clerked for the 4th Judicial Circuit in Jacksonville, Florida. Ms. Gaffey earned certificates in Advanced Research, Writing & Drafting and Highest Pro Bono Honors.
